MSc by Research Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

This MSc by Research in Food Science at University of Lincoln’s National Centre for Food Manufacturing (NCFM) provides graduates with the opportunity to develop knowledge, understanding, and expertise in their chosen field of food science research.
Students will be provided with the opportunity to study the physical, biological, and chemical makeup of food; the causes of food deterioration; and the concepts underlying food processing. Students can gain the experience of applying chemistry, microbiology, nutrition, engineering to the study of food to improve the safety, nutrition, wholesomeness, and availability of food. MA Interior Architecture and Design

Lincoln’s MA Interior Architecture and Design is designed for art, architecture, and design graduates who wish to specialise in creative approaches to the making of interior.
Following ‘Student as Producer’ principles, the course adopts a research-engaged design approach. The design studio is the vehicle for the delivery of a teaching and learning strategy which is largely project-based. This allows for the presentation of the studio as a simulated interior architecture and design consultancy. Students act as design associates in a firm with an established ethos, knowledge base, culture, documentation standards, and design approach under the direction of a team of managers.
The programme offers two pathways : Treatise by Practice and Treatise by Research; both pathways are designed to provide a platform to progress to further employment in interior consultancies or to advanced study at doctoral level.
MA Interior Architecture and Design is a full-time course running over a 40-week period, from September to August, or February to December.

Knowledge across a range of disciplines is required by students looking to understand business operations in an international context, and this course aims to help students develop the necessary knowledge and qualities to compete effectively in both the domestic and international labour markets.

The programme offers a high level of support for international students. The MSc International Hospitality Management offers students the opportunity to develop and advance their knowledge and expertise across the breadth of the hospitality function. The programme enables students to develop the business and management skills needed to contribute to the effectiveness of domestic and international hospitality enterprise.

Students are able to learn the theories and practice of managing the hospitality enterprise, staying competitive in the marketplace, and managing crisis in the face of uncertainty in a fast-changing global environment.

Students have the chance to attend lectures from external speakers, including managers and business professionals from the hospitality sector. The University’s industry links inform the content of the programme, helping to ensure it is industry relevant, and provides students with the chance to build their own network of contacts. There is also the opportunity to take part in a residential field trip and undertake a Professional Placement year. The MA International Journalism is an innovative new programme delivered in partnership between the Thomson Reuters Foundation and the University of Lincoln, designed to equip new generations of journalists to report impartially on critical global issues facing society today.
The programme offers students the opportunity to learn from leading industry professionals through a rich course of study, made up of both theoretical and practical sessions, all of which are delivered online with academics and practitioners from the University of Lincoln and the Thomson Reuters Foundation.
Covering topics spanning the human impact of climate change to human rights issues, access to land and property rights, and social enterprise, the Thomson Reuters Foundation is known globally for producing the highest quality independent journalism that informs professionals, policymakers, and the public in countries around the world.

This MSc by Research provides an opportunity for students from biological subjects to begin research in life sciences.

Microbiology has an impact on multiple aspects of our lives, ensuring our food is safe, treating and preventing disease, developing green technologies, or tracking the role of microbes in climate change, among other applications.

We aim to equip graduates to embark on further research to strive to solve major global challenges such as antibiotic resistance, clean drinking water, and food security.

Staff can offer expertise in medical, industrial and environmental microbiology, molecular, cell and system biology, recombinant DNA technology, protein biochemistry, structural biology, fermentation, and bioengineering. As researchers in the School, students will have the opportunity to collaborate with academics working on studies and projects.

MSc Nursing

The MSc Nursing (Pre-registration – Adult) course aims to prepare graduates for the complex, demanding, and rewarding area of adult nursing. The course provides those from a range of backgrounds with the opportunity to transfer their skills to become a registered nurse (adult).
This Master’s is for graduates of relevant degrees who aspire to qualify for eligibility to apply to the Nursing and Midwifery Council Register.
The course is underpinned by the Nursing and Midwifery Councils’s (NMC) core values and aims to promotes critical thinking skills and the spirit of inquiry.

MSc by Research Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences

The School of Pharmacy aims to produce passionate pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists who able to address many of the major healthcare challenges facing the world in the 2020s and beyond. Pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists have the potential to forge strong and unique bridges between science and healthcare to improve health outcomes, developing good relationships with patients, healthcare practitioners, and the pharmaceutical industry.

This research programme provides students with the opportunity to liaise with professionals in the pharmacy, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology industries, and develop national and international collaborations. Our MA Animation course builds on a long and illustrious history of animation education at UCA Farnham, and will provide you with a strong interdisciplinary approach to the animated form.

MA Fine Art

Course Overview

Our MA Fine Art programme is a two-year part-time course, beginning January 2021.

Through online delivery the course is accessible to anyone who, because of work, caring or family commitments, would not otherwise be able to consider studying at higher degree level.

The MA Fine Art programme offers students the opportunity to work in a medium of their choice; past students have worked in a wide range of media, including painting, sculpture, writing, printmaking, installation, performance, curation, time-based work and digital art. The emphasis of the programme is on studio practice, with theory, context and professional practice integrated throughout.
